Innovation at RB Centres of excellence - Hull
We’re excited to be investing not just in our company’s future, but also the future of science in the UK. Our new £105m Centre for Scientific Excellence in Hull is the largest single investment in the company’s history. Once complete, it will be one of RB’s biggest healthcare development centres complementing other major R&D facilities around the world.

The highly sustainable building will house a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) health development facility to support the creation and testing of cutting-edge consumer health innovations.
July 2016: We are delighted to announce the appointment of leading global engineering and construction company M+W Group, as the main contractor to design and build our state-of-the-art R&D facility. Groundwork to prepare our site has already begun and this marks the beginning of the construction phase of our development. Our investment goes beyond our building and our people. We want to bring the entire Hull community on the journey, creating a community of scientific excellence. Through local educational initiatives we’re encouraging young people to realise just how exciting a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) led career can really be.
We’ve challenged university students across the UK to solve future consumer health problems. Winners will get £5,000 towards their university education plus a paid summer placement at our new CfSE.

Each year school students across Hull are invited to design a health product for RB brands in a 'Dragon's Den' style competition.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of science as a fun and engaging subject that can lead to a great career.
