Reckitt Benckiser appoints Virgo HEALTH PR as Nurofen Global PR agency for central team

Following the acquisition of Boots Healthcare International earlier this year, Reckitt Benckiser plc today announced the appointment of Virgo HEALTH PR to promote its analgesic brand Nurofen, globally. The appointment marks the first centrally driven PR programme for Nurofen.

Commenting on the announcement, Simon Merritt, Global Category Director for Analgesics, Reckitt Benckiser plc said Virgo have great experience and an impressive track record, we are looking forward to collaborating with the team on this next exciting phase of Nurofen's development.

Nurofen was launched OTC in the UK in 1985 and has subsequently become one of the biggest OTC analgesic brands in the world, available in 90 countries. It was recently acquired by Reckitt Benckiser plc as part of the purchase of Boots Healthcare International.

Virgo HEALTH PR was voted Communique Consultancy of the Year and won Launch of the Year at the 2006 Communique Awards, and was awarded Specialist Consultancy of the Year at the 2005 PR Week Awards.
