Our locations in this region

France is a key market in Western Europe, with very strong links to our business in Belgium. Our French commercial office is in Massy, near Paris, and our factory operations about 80kms away. This advanced facility operates a culture of continuous improvement and manufactures a wide range of products, including depilatories, cosmetics, cleaning wipes and slow release air care products. In Belgium, around 80 professionals make their contribution from our commercial office near Brussels. In France our success is driven by around 700 people.

What do we do?

We are one of the most successful companies in the household market in France, with strong performance in terms of market growth. Much of this can be put down to constant innovation - we launched 43 new products into this market in 2007 alone. New product launches like Vanish Magnet and Cillit Bang Javel continue to help us increase market share. Other key brands in both countries include Air Wick and Strepsils. We offer careers in marketing, sales, IS, finance, HR, supply chain and regulatory, as well as manufacturing, scientific services and procurement roles.

What can you expect?

Expect plenty of opportunity, as well as autonomy within a culture that expects success. In particular, since the acquisition of Boots Healthcare International in 2006 our Health Care business has expanded significantly. We’re exceptional when it comes to developing our people - we recruited no less than 90% of our people as graduates. Some of these have gone on to international assignments. There is a strong commitment to voluntary work and fund raising too. Our Belgian team are part of the ‘Plan Belgique’ project: a humanitarian effort to help children from developing countries, especially Cambodia, receive an education.

Graduates and internships

We look for ambitious and talented graduates to join our company every year, especially in Marketing, Sales and Supply. While there is no formal graduate programme in place, you’ll find many opportunities for graduates to build a fast-moving career within our business. We also have a well-established internship programme, taking on about 35 interns each year who all enjoy planned training and a high level of responsibility. We mainly recruit interns in January and in June for a six-month internship period, and we accept applications year-round. In addition to their original valuable internship, we also give French interns the chance to go abroad to do a second internship.
