Our locations in this region

China is a market with seemingly limitless growth potential. From our central office in Beijing’s famous Silver Tower we’re well-placed to exploit that potential. From here we co-ordinate our five major sales offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan. Our East Asian R&D centre can be found in Guangdong, and we also have a major manufacturing site in Central China. Altogether around 1,200 people work for us in China, and 350 of these are permanent employees.

What do we do?

Sales is a very important area for us, but we also offer careers in marketing, manufacturing, HR, finance, IS, regulatory and R&D. Dettol is the key brand in the Chinese market. It has a dominant market share and is available in a range of formats. Other big brands in China include Veet, Finish, Cillit Bang and Dosia. We have a large manufacturing capability here and we manufacture all these brands for the local market. We also supply more diversified brands to dozens of countries in Asia, the Middle East and Southern Africa.

What can you expect?

The domestic market is still undergoing enormous expansion. In particular we expect growth in the OTC (over-the-counter) category. If you’re looking for a challenge you can expect to develop fast and far in China. In every area of the business you’ll enjoy entrepreneurial excitement, and you’ll benefit from the well established multi-national platform. Away from the business we’re committed to nationwide disaster relief efforts such as SARS, earthquakes, floods and avian flu. We also continue to help disaster-hit communities by donating generous amounts of relevant product. When they’re not working, our people enjoy the buzz of Beijing nightlife and the thriving urban culture of our fast-growing cities.

Our graduate programme

We look for 10-14 exceptional graduates each year to join programmes in marketing, sales, supply and R&D. Many of our graduates can expect the opportunity to work abroad early in their careers. We look for applications in December of the year before your graduation.
