Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland

Key markets that punch above their weight

Our locations in this region

Our operations in these three countries are closely linked. We lead the Swiss business for our office near Zurich in Switzerland, the Austrian market from Vienna, while our Netherlands business is driven by our commercial team in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam, which provides Sales, Marketing and Business Support expertise.

What do we do?

Despite our relatively small size these three markets have international importance. We specialise in Sales and  Marketing in all three countries, while we have a major supply chain facility in Switzerland. Our Powerbrand portfolio includes Air Wick, Calgon, Calgonit, Clearasil, Cillit Bang, Nurofen, Vanish, Veet and Woolite, and it’s always expanding.

For example, we launched Harpic in the Netherlands in 2007, achieving a 7% market share in year one in a very competitive market and winning the Wheel of Retail award for the best introduction of that year. Meanwhile local heroes like Glassex and Citrosan continue to thrive. We are also big advertisers in the region – we are in the top ten in terms of media spend in Switzerland.

What can you expect?

All markets in this region are mature and highly competitive. Our successes here are hard won, with all key FMCG players present in the market, but we are focused on occupying or retaining No.1 or No.2 positions in each of our core categories.

You’ll find the culture in all locations to be open and supportive with a very flat organisational structure. Everyone is encouraged to be innovative and to make the most of our collaborative working style. Partly as a result, we enjoy many social occasions together.

Outside of work you’ll find no shortage of culture in some of Europe’s great cities. Shopping and leisure facilities meanwhile are second to none.
