RB Pharmaceutical in new initiative to improve lives of brick kiln factory children

RB Pharmaceutical's pioneering and partnering initiative with Save the Children helps to improve the lives of children working in brick kiln factories in the rural areas of West Bengali, India.

Thousands of children are trapped in brick kiln factories many trafficked or kidnapped from the rural areas of West Bengali.

More than half of the workers are women and children who are expected to carry 88 lbs of bricks on their heads for 656 feet 15-20 times per day (2 and 1/2 miles each day).

Since 2008 Save the Children has been working to eradicate child labour, provide childcare for working mothers and education centres for the children.

RB is honoured to partner with Save the Children in sharing our resources of time, talent and finances in our joint mission to improve the lives of children and 'be the difference that makes a difference.'

‘Save 150,000 Lives’ campaign

A child dies every 3 seconds from a preventable disease such as malaria, measles or pneumonia. Yet it costs just £10 to save a life. To help Save the Children save 150,000 lives in Angola and Tanzania, RB set out to raise £1.5 million in 3 years. In 2008, RB not only met its ambitious target, but exceeded it.

Children’s Emergency Fund

This fund allows Save the Children to respond the moment disaster strikes, without wasting precious time on appeals. RB is firmly committed to it, donating £100,000 a year since 2007.
