The world around us is just as important as our business, and that's why we are dedicated to environmental and community projects which, among other things, contribute to reducing carbon emissions or help less fortunate people all over the world.

Here's a selection of some of the ways RB has been recognised for its corporate social responsibility efforts.

Air Wick’s innovative new aerosol – which uses compressed air instead of traditional chemical propellants butane or nitrogen – has won at the UK Packaging Awards 2011 for environmental initiative of the year.

It is estimated that the change from butane-powered aerosols constitutes should lead to around 42,000 tons of CO2 reduction – the same as taking 13,000 cars off the roads.

The UK Packaging Awards recognise and reward not only packaging quality but “consistency, business strategy and financial performance and environmental impact.” 

Our global partnership with Save the Children has been recognised in the Corporate Engagement Awards, held in London in July 2011. RB won Gold for ‘Most effective long-term philanthropic scheme’ and Silver for ‘Best charity-centred sponsorship activity’.

The awards, presented by Communicate Magazine, demonstrate the company and the global workforce’s commitment to the partnership with Save the Children.

The CR Index public ranking provides recognition to companies committed to driving improvements and transparency in corporate responsibility.

Reckitt Benckiser has been recognised at the very first Gigaton Awards, for its work in making a difference to climate change and environmental sustainability. The Gigaton Prizes were developed and awarded by the Carbon War Room, a non-profit organisation that harnesses the power of entrepreneurs to implement market-driven solutions to climate change. The awards ceremony took place during the World Climate Summit.

The award for the Consumer Staples sector was given to Reckitt Benckiser in recognition for work on demonstrating its leadership in mitigating risk from climate change and sustainable practices.

RB is recognised by the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) as a Champion in the Design for the Environment Program’s Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI).

The EPA has also recognised RB for committing to improve the environmental performance of their freight operations, as a SmartWay Transport Partner.
