Reckitt Benckiser appoints new Chief Financial Officer
Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (RB) announces it is appointing Liz Doherty as chief financial officer (CFO).
Liz, who is British, was CFO at Brambles Industries PLC for 2 years. A top 25 company on the Australia stock market, the supply chain and information management solutions provider has a market cap of Aus$9.7bn and operates across 45 countries. Prior to Brambles, Liz was the number 2 in the finance function at Tesco PLC where she was group international finance director with additional responsibility for corporate accounts, group tax and treasury. She was 7 years at Tesco PLC, having joined from Unilever PLC, where she had a 22-year career. She has 14 years international experience having worked in Australia, Spain, the Netherlands and Thailand.
Liz has been a non-executive director of SABMiller PLC since 2006, a role from which she will be standing down ahead of joining RB.
Commenting on her appointment, RB chief executive, Bart Becht, says, “I am delighted to welcome Liz. She has excellent international, consumer and listed company experience. In addition she is a great cultural fit for RB showing the focus and drive that RB looks for.”
Liz Doherty will join RB in January 2011 and have a period of handover with Colin Day the outgoing CFO.
